Starting from April 1, notable companies in the food industry, including the Queen and Italiano pasta brands, have announced significant price hikes for their products, despite a reduction in flour prices and the dollar's depreciation against the pound. Queen Pasta's prices have surged for various package sizes, with a carton of 20 packages of 1 kilo pasta now costing 298 pounds and lasagna priced at 217 pounds. Similarly, Italiano pasta's prices have increased, with a 400-gram carton now at 402 pounds and a kilogram carton at 435 pounds. Macaronto has also raised its prices, with a 290-gram carton of 20 now at 178.5 pounds. These price increases have been criticized as unjustified by sources within the Foodstuffs Division of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce.
