An online conference, "Organic Vegetable Business: Prospects 2021," was held on March 18, bringing together experts and business owners to discuss the state and future of organic certified vegetables and greens in Ukraine. The country had 50 organic vegetable producers as of 2020, covering 134 hectares and producing 2945 tons of organic vegetables, predominantly pumpkins, zucchini, and other melons. The conference highlighted the challenges faced by the organic vegetable sector, including lack of knowledge, inadequate consumer awareness, and lack of state control against pseudo-organics. The event was supported by the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Business Development Project and Switzerland's development of trade program, focusing on the organic and dairy sectors in Ukraine.
