Hungary: A turn in organic farming is expected, a new regulation is imminent

In Hungary, the size of ecological arable land has increased by about 70 percent to almost 100,000 hectares in the last ten years. According to the working group of the Interbranch Organization and Product Council (VSZT) of the Seed Association, a significant further increase in this area is expected in the next ten years. In Europe, the size of the areas involved in organic farming has increased to 16.5 million hectares in recent years, and the countries that are at the forefront of the continent have already reached a rate of around 15 percent or more in this area.
