Brazil, the world's largest chicken exporter, is in talks with Britain to increase the quota for processed and fresh chicken products. The current quota allows Brazil to export 26,800 tonnes of processed products and almost 41,000 tonnes of fresh chicken for processing. The talks aim to increase these quotas by 16,000 tonnes and 6,000 tonnes respectively. The local companies are ready to immediately boost supplies if the talks are successful. Brazil is also trying to start exporting pork products to Canada. Despite facing a steep rise in corn and soybean prices, which impact the cost of feed, Brazil's chicken and pork production and exports are expected to grow this year and the next.
