In the past season, Dutch consumer and industrial potato sales declined, with total exports just over 800,000 tons, down by more than 100,000 tons from the previous year. This decrease was influenced by high prices and larger local harvests in countries like Germany and France. Conversely, Belgium increased its imports by 9,000 tons, accounting for 58 percent of total exports. Sales to Africa fell significantly by 44,000 tons due to high prices. Despite the decline, export figures remain higher than the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 seasons and are comparable to the 2019-2020 season.
