Serbian producers and trade unions are advocating for cherries to be sold at a price of no less than PLN 3.00 per kilogram in Poland, citing the need to maintain farm profitability. They argue that current European market prices of 1.30 to 1.50 euros per kilogram, which translate to PLN 6.19 to 7.15 per kilogram, do not reflect the profitability of production. They also criticize the lack of transparency in the pricing of processed fruit and note that producers are often taken advantage of by processing plants. In Serbia, local producer unions recommend a price of 80 dinars this season, which is roughly equal to PLN 3.27 per kilogram.
