Adventist University of Chile develops sustainable agriculture and energy project

The development of an agro-photovoltaic system is an innovative and sustainable project that the Adventist University of Chile (UNACH) is carrying out through its Faculty of Engineering and Business Administration. This project is notable for its dual purpose: the generation of electric energy using solar radiation and the development of fruit orchards under the structures of photovoltaic panels. UNACH is located in Chillán, Ñuble Region, in Chile. This project, financed by the Competitiveness Fund of the Regional Government of Ñuble, contemplates the production of cherries and strawberries using semi-transparent solar panels that facilitate the passage of light into the crops beneath them.
