With a bit of delay, because almost two months have passed since the previously stipulated deadline ended, the national government extended by one year the intervention it imposed on the Regulatory Agency for the Hemp and Medicinal Cannabis Industry (ARICCAME), decided back in September 2024 and which has almost paralyzed the development of an activity deregulated by laws enacted in recent years.
The decision was set forth in resolution 464/2025, signed by Pablo Agustín Lavigne (the not-so-well-known Secretary of Productive Coordination), which in its considerations recalled several of the back-and-forths that the agency has undergone. Prior to this extension, the authorities attempted to dissolve it through decree 462, dated July 7, along with INTA, INTI, and other autonomous bodies of the Ministry of Economy.
