Agreement between Brazil and the Philippines should boost exports of beef, pork and poultry

The Brazilian government announced this Tuesday (12) that the Philippines recognized the equivalence of health inspection systems for Brazilian exports of beef, pork and poultry. In response to a request made by Brazil last year, the Philippine Department of Agriculture and Inspection grants the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) authorization to certify and enable establishments audited by the Asian country's inspection mission. Furthermore, informs the Ministry of Agriculture, the agreement includes the possibility of enabling other production units that meet the established requirements. The agreement is valid for three years, starting February 28 this year. The recognition, called “system accreditation”, attests to the level of confidence in Brazilian health control.
