In 2020, Brazilian agribusiness exports increased by 4.1% to US $ 100.81 billion, while imports decreased by 5.2% to US $ 13.05 billion, leading to a surplus balance of US $ 87.76 billion. Agribusiness accounted for 48% of Brazil's exports. The soy complex was the largest export sector, followed by meats, forest products, sugar and alcohol complex, and cereals. China was the main destination for soybean exports, which increased by 2.2% from 2019 despite a 10.5% drop in exports to the European Union. The agribusiness trade balance decreased by 3.8% in December 2020 due to a reduction in the price and quantum index of exported products.
