In April 2025, national agricultural production registered a 7.53% drop compared to the same month of the previous year, mainly due to the decline in the agricultural subsector, which decreased by 11.49%, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI). The contraction of the agricultural sector was due to lower production volumes of crops such as: raw cotton (-46.3%), paddy rice (-43.9%), quinoa (-23.7%), asparagus (-23.7%), hard yellow corn (-14.6%), potato (-13.2%), and choclo corn (-12.2%).
