[Reporter Hong Lan, Korean Farmers and Fishermen Newspaper] It was reported that agricultural income in 2024 increased compared to the previous year. Despite a decrease in production due to abnormal weather, the improvement in farmers' income is attributed to rising market prices. The Rural Development Administration announced the income survey results for 51 major agricultural products in 2024 on September 30. This survey was conducted on sample farms designed based on data from the 2020 Comprehensive Agricultural, Forestry, and Fisheries Survey. According to the survey results, the average income per 10 ares of total agricultural products increased by 10.4% compared to the previous year. Although the quantity decreased by 1.4%, the total income increased by 6.8% due to an 8.4% rise in the price received by farmers, and large agricultural organizations and facilities.
