The Field Crops Research Institute, under the Agricultural Research Center, concluded a successful national campaign to promote barley crops, guided by Minister Alaa Farouk. Funded by the Agricultural Development Program, the campaign led to the adoption of modern barley varieties, increased use of certified seeds, and improved productivity in targeted areas. It also addressed challenges faced by farmers, especially in border regions, and implemented 170 extension fields across various governorates. The initiative educated farmers on climate change impacts, introduced dual-purpose barley cultivation, and provided technical and material support to enhance livelihoods and income in marginal areas.
