The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) of Spain has made changes to the Commercial Variety Register, as published in the Official State Gazette. The changes include the addition of several varieties such as cotton, rice, sunflower, bean, corn, clementine mandarin, melon, Sudan grass, and beet sugar bowl. The order also sets the conditions for the monitoring plan for maize varieties with the MON 810 genetic modification. Additionally, the order cancels the registration of certain species like artichoke, cotton, celery, and cauliflower, among others. Finally, the order grants plant variety titles to the clementine mandarin variety ‘Citrus Clementina Hort. Ex Tanaka’ and renews the registration of several other varieties.
