China has initiated negotiations to import Egyptian mangoes following a request from Egypt, after a technical committee from Beijing expressed admiration for the fruit's quality. The export process involves creating a technical file on the crop, including pest information. The agricultural quarantine has received similar requests from other countries such as Lebanon, Australia, and New Zealand. Meanwhile, Egypt has exported 40 thousand tons of mangoes so far this year, earning over $31 million. In 2020, Egypt's agricultural exports to China amounted to 133 thousand tons, valued at $75 million.
