In São Francisco de Goiás, 10 young people have initiated an Urban Agriculture project, which has seen the creation of the first vegetable garden at a local school in May, with support from the Faeg/Senar System and the municipality's Rural Producers Union. The project aims to promote urban farming and provide fresh produce for school meals, the elderly, and needy families. The project has been extended to an elderly shelter and also involves donations to the local Basic Health Unit. This initiative is part of Agro Fraterno's movement to collect and donate food to those affected by the pandemic, with significant support and donations reported. The article also highlights the free agricultural courses offered by the National Service for Rural Learning (SENAR), encouraging those interested in gardening to take advantage of the opportunity.
