In 2023, Russia significantly increased its buckwheat exports to China, with a 7.5-fold increase compared to 2022, totaling over 145 thousand tons. This export was valued at nearly $62 million, marking a 5.4 times increase from the previous year. Buckwheat, a staple in many Chinese dishes, especially in the northern provinces, saw one of the highest yields in history in Russia, with a harvest of 1.6 million tons.
