Almost the entire record volume of Russian rapeseed oil was exported last year

In the 2022/23 season, a record volume of rapeseed oil was produced in Russia - about 1.5 million tons, which is 75% more than in the 2021/22 season; figures comparable to last year's figures are expected in the new year. Since the domestic market for Russian rapeseed oil is small, the products are exported. From January to December 2023, Russia exported 1.7 million tons of rapeseed oil, which is 72% more than in 2022. Export revenue increased by 20%. China remains the main buyer of domestic rapeseed oil. In 2023, the volume of supplies to this country increased 2.2 times and reached 1.46 million tons, and the cost increased by 53%. European countries are traditionally among the leading importers of Russian rapeseed oil, but their share in the total supply has decreased.
