By Gabriela Jucá São Paulo, 12/19/2025 - A study prepared by Amcham Brasil indicates that only six out of 21 exporting sectors are able to compensate for the losses caused by the United States' surcharges on Brazilian products. The conclusion is that the strategy of redirecting exports to other markets was insufficient to mitigate the effects of the surcharges in most cases. The sectors that managed to fully compensate for their losses are those of plant products; fats and oils; chemicals; precious stones; electrical machinery and appliances; and mechanical machinery and instruments. Among the 15 most affected sectors, which could not compensate for their losses, the food sectors (such as honey and sins); plastic and rubber; wood; metals and transportation material stand out.
