The latest edition of the Official Bulletin was somewhat delayed in its publication and now it is clear why. Through resolution 249/2025, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries notified the opening of the registration period for the beef quota sent to the United States, which was set at 20,000 tons (which we already had authorized for that destination) and not at the 80,000 promised by the Trump administration. This increase in the export quota was one of the major victories achieved by Javier Milei's administration after the elections, which was widely celebrated for the increase in revenue it would represent. Of the $150 million in business that the current quota mobilizes, the number would increase to about $600 million with the additional 60,000 tons permitted.
