The Andalusian Regional Minister for Agriculture, Ramón Fernández-Pacheco, announced that aid for livestock farmers affected by movement restrictions due to serotype 3 of the bluetongue disease is expected to be approved in December. This aid will complement other national aids and aims to alleviate the impact on farmers. The Andalusian Government, in collaboration with the Spanish Government, is actively combating the epidemic, having administered over 473,000 vaccine doses in Huelva, Seville, and Córdoba. Spain's National Program for the Surveillance, Control, and Eradication of Bluetongue 2024 requires vaccination for animals over three months old, with ongoing efforts to control the disease.
