The Ministry in Turkey has released a feasibility report and investor guide for anise, a plant that is both domestically used and exported. Anise is cultivated in 14 provinces and has seen increased production from 14 thousand tons in 2010 to 18 thousand tons in 2019, covering around 239 thousand decares. The highest production is in Konya, and the highest export is to the Netherlands. Anise is used in various industries such as pharmaceutical, cosmetics, aromatherapy, and alcoholic beverages. The price per kilogram has doubled from 2019 to 2020, making it more profitable. An investment in anise is seen as profitable due to its high profit margin and potential added value in essential oils, food supplements, and herbal medicines. Furthermore, farmers receive support payment for product certificates.
