Italy: Aoa (Agro Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association) wants to enhance the production of fruits and vegetables

This year it celebrated 40 years of activity. Aoa (Agro Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association) is an Op with an association base in Campania where there are the largest productions with Puglia, as well as in Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio, Marche, Abruzzo, Molise, Basilicata and Calabria. The business revolves around industrial tomatoes, but over the years the offer has expanded to other fresh fruit and vegetable products: persimmons, kohlrabi, radish, lettuce, melon, rocket, cauliflower, apples. With particular attention to the typical productions of each area and a substantial share deriving from organic cultivation. Sustainability, quality, aggregation and innovation are the key words of the Op, chaired by Vincenzo Di Massa. “The future goal is to devote ourselves more to characteristic productions of the Agro Sarnese, which we have somewhat neglected over the years, such as the Onion Nocerino Dop and the friarelli”, says the director Gennaro Velardo.
