Apples harvest in Niğde, Turkey, which is sent to 15 countries including Russia, Iraq, Syria and India, is expected to see a 40% decrease this year due to lack of rainfall and high heat. Turkey is the world's third largest apple producer. The most common apples produced in Niğde are gala, golden and scarlet. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is currently developing production planning to assist producers in planting and sowing accordingly.
