The Brazilian Apple Producers Association (ABPM) expressed deep sorrow for the passing of agricultural engineer and entrepreneur Leandro Bortoluz on this Friday (26). He was one of the most prominent figures in pomiculture (apple cultivation) in Brazil and the world. His career was marked by research, innovation, and leadership in the sector. Born in Caxias do Sul and raised in Vacaria, both in Rio Grande do Sul, Bortoluz had contact with orchards from a young age.
