The National Institute of Fisheries Science has launched the Halibut Mortality Response Task Force to address the decline in productivity and frequent mass mortality of farmed halibut. Flounder is an important breed for fish farming in Korea but has been affected by disease, environmental deterioration, and natural disasters, leading to a decrease in productivity. The task force aims to conduct research, gather field experiences, and incorporate expert opinions to develop solutions and improve the flounder aquaculture industry.
