The Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (ARDA) of Zimbabwe, which manages 21 estates covering 98,000 hectares of arable land, is strategically shifting its focus to ensure food, feed, fibre, and biofuels security in the country. This move is in line with Zimbabwe's ambitions to become an upper middle-income economy by 2030. The plan includes a market-led crop production model, self-sustenance, and the establishment of a commercial services unit for one-stop agricultural shop. However, the organization is seeking funding for land clearing, irrigation development, and the implementation of weather-proofing and smart agronomical technologies.
