In 2025, the areas under sugar beet in Ukraine decreased to 198 thousand hectares — this is 22% less than last year. The reduction in the production of raw materials is also influenced by the low level of precipitation in July-August, which causes lower yields of sugar beets. Global sugar reserves remain at a 9-year low. According to World Market Prices, even in years of high yields, sugar prices are consistently high. This opens up opportunities for Ukrainian producers, who have a favorable geographical location and a flexible start to the season.
