Argentina has had to redirect some of its orange and lemon exports to Eastern Europe and North America due to a black spot issue detected in shipments to Europe. This has resulted in the loss of around 20,000 tons of each fruit. The country has obtained a special permit to enter northern European countries with its oranges, helping to ease the situation. However, the situation has affected the general average price for both fruits. The industry is working with Senasa to correct the issues and improve processes.
