One of the main causes behind the economic losses in the local dairy sector is related to livestock diseases. Bovine mastitis, in particular, poses a significant challenge due to its high contagion rates and the impact it has on productivity. This is what motivated a team from the Institute of Research of the Dairy Chain (INTA-CONICET) and the Faculty of Biochemistry and Biological Sciences of the National University of the Littoral (FBCB-UNL) to work on tools to combat its causative agent: Staphylococcus aureus. Thus, they arrived at the development of an experimental local vaccine, which has already shown promising results.
