The San Pedro Station of Argentina's National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) has introduced a new Japanese plum variety named Silvana INTA, which is pollinated by the Letizia variety. This plum features a round shape, bright red or red and yellow skin, and sweet, light yellow flesh, requiring approximately 510 hours of cold and is harvested between January 10-15. Argentina is a significant plum producer, mainly converting plums into dried fruits, with Mendoza and Rio Negro provinces being the top producers. Other notable plum varieties in the country include Larry Ann, Reina Claudia, and Black Beaut.
