Argentina's soybean complex is the country's primary export engine, with 80% of soybeans produced being sold abroad. This sets Argentina apart from competitors like Brazil and the US, which focus on unprocessed bean exports. For the 2023/24 campaign, Argentina is projected to produce 50 million tons of soybeans, with 79% of that being processed for added value. Flour and oil are the main by-products, with 95% and 70% respectively being exported. This strategy of adding value to soybeans has led to a record performance in soybean oil exports, reinforcing Argentina's role as a generator of foreign currency.
