Argentina significantly increased sunflower oil exports in March

According to the German agency Oil World, in March 2025, Argentina significantly increased its exports of sunflower oil, reaching 119 thousand tons, which is 17% more than in the same period in 2024. In particular, 47 thousand tons of this volume were delivered to India, which is almost twice as much as last year (26 thousand tons). In addition, the country has intensified the processing of sunflower seeds, which contributed to the growth of exports. An important role was played by the resumption of the Vicentin plant after the settlement of issues with wage payments, which will allow Argentina to increase its processing capacity for both sunflower and soybeans in 2025. Argentina also exported 485 thousand tons of soybean oil in March, exceeding forecasts. The main importers were India and Nepal (244 thousand tons each), Bangladesh (52 thousand tons) and Pakistan (34 thousand tons).
