Argentina's agricultural sector is experiencing a downturn, with export projections for its five main crops - soybean, corn, wheat, barley, and sunflower - falling by 18% to US$29.3 billion due to lower international prices and a pest outbreak affecting corn yields. The total grain production for the 2023/24 cycle is now estimated at 131.1 million tonnes, a decrease from the initial forecast of 137.6 million tons. This decline, as reported by the Rosario Stock Exchange, is set against a backdrop of falling global market prices and presents a significant challenge for the country's agricultural export value in a difficult global economic environment.
