In the 2019 and 2020 seasons, Argentina's Río Negro and Neuquén regions experienced a notable increase in the export of pears and apples to Latin American countries, as reported by the National Service of Agrifood Health and Quality (Senasa). The apple exports saw a significant rise of 24%, totaling 56,325 tons in 2020, with the biggest increases being to Paraguay (69%), Bolivia (42%), and Brazil (16%. Pear exports also grew by 7%, reaching 138,193 tons in 2020. The main destinations for these exports include Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, and Uruguay.
