Argus: Brazil buys less fuel and fertilizers from Russia in September By Gabriela da Cunha Rio, 07/10/2025 - Brazilian purchases of Russian diesel declined in September, reflecting the new concern of importers with the escalation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, according to the price consultancy Argus. Regarding Russian fertilizer shipments, the monthly retraction was 23%, maintaining the cooling seen in August. Fertilizer shipments from Russia reached 8.98 million tons between January and September, peaking in July (1.15 million tons). In September, imports fell to 888 thousand tons, reveals a survey based on data from the Foreign Trade Secretariat of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (Secex/MDIC) released on Monday. Potassium chloride (MOP) remains the flagship, accounting for 5.50 million tons (61% of the total).
