The agricultural organization Asaja has denounced the "blow" of the European Parliament to the Spanish countryside following its rejection of the labeling of origin for Western Sahara and has demanded that Spanish MEPs do not support the association agreement with Morocco pending the final decision. The European Parliament narrowly saved this Wednesday the European Commission's proposal to label fruits and vegetables from Western Sahara with the name of two Moroccan regions when imported to the EU, which according to some MEPs would be contrary to European legislation and jurisprudence.
