In October, Australia's canola exports significantly dropped by 53% compared to September, totaling 181,948 tonnes, due to the annual decrease in volume before the new crop becomes available in November. The overseas markets that received the most Australian canola in October included France, Belgium, and Pakistan. This decrease was also observed in year-over-year data, with October 2024 shipments being 52% lower than October 2023. This situation arises amidst anticipated increased demand for Australian new-crop canola due to a disappointing European rapeseed production season, as indicated by the numerous cargoes bound for Europe and Pakistan as of late.
