Australia's table grape industry is poised for significant growth in the 2024/25 marketing year, with production expected to rise by 18% to 230,000 metric tons due to favorable weather, enhancing quality and boosting exports to 135,000 metric tons. This growth is driven by strong demand from Asian markets, particularly China, despite its increased domestic production. Australia is projected to account for 31% of China's grape imports in the 2023/24 season, benefiting from its geographical proximity and shorter shipping times. The industry is recovering from past challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and adverse weather, by focusing on grape varieties favored in China and other key markets like Indonesia, South Korea, the Philippines, and Vietnam, which together represent 70% of Australia's grape exports.
