In July, Australia saw a significant increase in sorghum exports to China, reaching 72% of the total shipped in June, while feed and malting barley exports experienced a decline. China continued to be the dominant buyer of both feed and malting barley, with Vietnam and Thailand as the next largest markets. Despite concerns over potential import restrictions on barley and sorghum from China, there has been ongoing interest for new-crop business from China. However, dry conditions in Victoria and South Australia may impact new-crop barley sales.
