France has downgraded its risk status for highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) from 'high' to 'moderate' due to no new outbreaks since mid-January in breeding and mid-February in wildlife. This change permits the unrestricted release of ducks to outdoor ranges and other poultry. However, certain conditions still apply to wetlands under migration corridors and areas with a high density of duck farms. Despite the lowered risk, the Ministry of Agriculture has urged stakeholders to maintain vigilance and strict biosecurity measures.
