The government is providing over 2 billion forints to support the fight against avian influenza in the domestic waterfowl sector. The aim of the measure is to reduce epidemiological risks, strengthen the safety of farms, and increase the competitiveness of the sector in the long term. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, there is significant interest in the program, and the subsidies will be distributed to all concerned parties by November. The Hungarian State Treasury has so far disbursed 2.038 billion forints in support to the actors in the waterfowl sector. Based on the applications submitted in July this year, 105 poultry farms will receive funds in the first round, said Agriculture Minister István Nagy.
