In a festive atmosphere and with the presence of the Vice Minister of Family Agriculture Development and Agricultural Infrastructure and Irrigation, the Special Project Sierra Centro Sur (PESCS) of the Ministry of Agrarian and Irrigation Development (Midagri) inaugurated the Huambalpa Irrigation System Project in the province of Vilcas Huamán, Ayacucho. This work will ensure water supply for crops on 270 hectares, benefiting more than 440 farming families dedicated to the production of tubers, fruit trees, cereals, and other crops. The project includes the construction of 14 km of hydraulic infrastructure, as well as training for local communities in the efficient use of water resources. The Huambalpa population expressed their gratitude to PESCS and Midagri. "We are a community that lives from agriculture and livestock, so water is fundamental for us," stated one of the producers.
