After a disagreement between relevant agencies, banana import shipments in Iran faced uncertainty, with some not being cleared due to rule inconsistencies. However, in early September, an agreement was reached on the import and clearance of bananas. The Deputy Minister of Jihad for Agriculture stated that banana consignments can be cleared from places declared as apple trees, with specific time frames. Clearance of shipments that adhere to these conditions will not be an issue. For banana imports before a certain notification date, clearance will be permitted in accordance with certain criteria. This decision follows concerns about banana imports not complying with the requirement of exporting apples, leading to undecided shipments in customs.
