In the 2023–2024 agricultural year, Russia saw a significant increase in agricultural exports to Bangladesh, with a record 3.5 million tons of wheat making up over half of the country's total wheat imports. Wheat exports from Russia to Bangladesh nearly doubled compared to the previous year, and pea and mustard seed exports also saw substantial increases. First-time exports of barley and potential future corn exports to Bangladesh present promising opportunities for Russia to further expand its agricultural presence in the Bangladeshi market. The trade turnover between the two countries in 2023 increased by 16.5% to $2.7 billion, with discussions underway for a long-term supply of grain products from Russia to Bangladesh.
