In 2024, Russia experienced a significant change in the beer market, with a 20% increase in the average price per liter, reaching 110 rubles, and a subsequent 21% decrease in demand. The most notable drop in demand was observed in the Primorsky Krai region. This price hike was attributed to several factors, including mandatory labeling, increased costs in packaging, logistics, and the reduction in imported beer due to higher duties, resulting in reduced competition and higher prices for domestic beers. This study is part of a larger analysis of the dynamics of alcoholic beverage markets in Russia, covering a period from October to November 2024, and involved the review of 25 million receipts issued by Russian retail outlets.
