Belgian-Brazilian consortium wins unprecedented concession for the access channel of the Port of Paranaguá

The Canal Galheta Dredging Consortium (CCDG) won the concession for the access channel of the Port of Paranaguá (PR) in the afternoon of this Wednesday, 22, the first of its kind in the country. The group, composed of the Brazilian FTS and the Belgian Dem, offered the maximum discount of 12.63% on the fee charged to ships and a concession of R$ 276 million, beating three other competitors in a competition with strong foreign presence. FTS, which already operates in the Port of Paranaguá, and the Belgian dredging company competed in the final stage with the Chinese CHEC Dredging, from the state-owned conglomerate China Communications Construction Company (CCCC). The competition also included the participation of the Belgian Jan De Nul and the Brazilian DTA Engenharia, which did not advance to the final stages.
