Despite rising production costs, Brazil's national livestock sector invested and saw an increase in the supply of animals for slaughter in 2022. Exports, especially to China, reached record levels with over 200,000 tons in August and September. However, domestic demand was lower than expected, leading to a decrease in average prices for live cattle for most of 2022. The highest average of the year was R$ 347.32 in January, and the lowest was R$ 283.35 in November.
