(Boseong=Yonhap News) Reporter Jang A-reum = On the 18th, Boseong County in Jeonnam announced that it will inject an additional 900 million won into its budget to provide rice farming stabilization funds. The rice farming stabilization fund support program is a project aimed at stabilizing the management of farming households facing difficulties due to fluctuations in rice prices and rising production costs. The total project cost for Boseong County was set at 30.56 billion won (40% provincial funding and 60% county funding). However, as Jeonnam Province increased the public interest allowance for farmers and fishermen, the provincial funding was reduced by approximately 50%, adjusting the project cost to 15.28 billion won. In response, Boseong County added 916.8 million won to the existing 916.2 million won in county funding, expanding the county's funding ratio to 75% and finalizing the total project cost at 24.45 billion won. This rice farming stabilization fund will be distributed starting from the 22nd to 5,939 farming households (4,781 hectares), with a support unit price of 510,000 won per hectare, up to a maximum of 2 hectares per farming household. An official from Boseong County said, "We decided to responsibly manage the county's finances at the county level under the judgment that rice farming households are the backbone of local agriculture" and "We will support stable farm management while considering the difficulties in the agricultural field."
