BPS Reports Rice Production Until October 2025 to be Surplus of 3.7 Million Tons
BPS reported that national rice production until October 2025 is estimated at 31.04 tons.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reports that national rice production until October 2025 is expected to reach 31.04 million tons. This figure exceeds the national consumption needs, which are estimated to be 27.3 million tons in the same period. With this achievement, Indonesia records a rice production surplus of approximately 3.7 million tons. Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics at BPS, Pudji Ismartini explained that this achievement exceeds the total rice production throughout 2024, which was recorded at 30.34 million tons. Additionally, this achievement shows a significant increase of 12.16 percent compared to the January–October 2024 period, which reached 27.67 million tons. The increase in production is supported by the expansion of rice harvest areas, which now reach 10.22 million hectares, up 11.90 percent compared to the same period last year at 9.13 million hectares.
